When I first partnered with Stoble in 2020, they were just starting out and the world was in lockdown.
They have big dreams, which are to create a space where people could gather, connect, work, and share great coffee. But with the pandemic reshaping everything, we had to think digitally from day one. I helped them build their very first websites to lay the foundation for a brand rooted in both flexibility and community.
Stoble Workplace & Coffee serves as a central gathering place for the Chico community, offering a unique combination of a specialty coffee shop and a coworking environment. With 17 offices, multiple meeting spaces, and a light-filled atrium, it caters to small business owners, creatives, and remote workers alike.
At the height of COVID-19, Stoble needed to serve two distinct audiences through two separate websites:
Designing Stoble’s digital experience from the ground up meant starting with the people. Both the team behind the brand and the customers they were building for. Since the business was launching during the pandemic, the stakes were high and everything needed to be intentional, human, and flexible.
Working closely with the stakeholders gave me early clarity on the heart of the brand. These conversations helped me design priorities.
As we began shaping the experience, early user behavior and feedback highlighted some clear trends.
With clear goals and insights in place, I focused on building two distinct but unified digital experiences. One for the coworking space, and another for the coffee subscription. While each site served a different purpose, they both needed to feel rooted in the same brand—clean, calm, and community-driven.
The goal for the Stoble Workplace website was to drive workspace bookings, clearly communicate membership value, and visually showcase the space itself. The design featured a clean, minimal UI with intuitive navigation and quick-access calls-to-action to help users take the next step with ease. I created a clear breakdown of membership tiers, day pass options, and room booking paths so visitors could quickly understand what worked for them.
The coffee site had a different focus, which is to make it simple for customers to subscribe, shop beans, and connect with the story behind the product. Using Shopify as the backend, I designed a scrollable catalog that allowed for effortless browsing. I also developed a custom subscription flow, where users could choose their bean type, grind preference, and delivery schedule.
What started as a small launch during the pandemic turned into a long-term collaboration that grew alongside the Stoble brand.
Through careful UX thinking, consistent storytelling, and intentional design, we created two digital experiences that support both sides of the business—whether someone wants to book a workspace, subscribe to coffee, or just feel like part of something local.
